Web Sites

I design & build websites of varying scope —I can do simple, economic design for those looking for a spare aesthetic (or operating on a tight budget), and more dynamic, graphically complex or animated sites, working between your preference of HTML, CSS and Flash for the front-end, and managing content via PHP & MySQL databases on the back-end. For non-designers, this means you can get an attractive & unique site, and designate areas in it which you can edit or add content at will in the future —with an interface as simple to use as your myspace or facebook page.

If we work together on a site, you will have my attention the entire time. We will start by discussing your ideas, inspirations and purposes for the site in as much detail as possible. Then I will proceed with a basic wireframe of the site, and one or two graphic themes, from which point we will revise and tweak until we get an architecture and an aesthetic that pleases you. From there, we will communicate at important points in production, where I will invite you to test out the site's functionality. If you elect to use a content management system, and you're nervous about technology, I can provide you with a brief and simple tutorial for its use.

HTML Email

Perhaps you have a site, and/or just need an HTML Email —or a series of them for a campaign. I can create a cohesive, attractive html email that works well with all clients, and if you already have a brand or a general aesthetic I can adhere to that style, to grant the email the kind of continuity it requires.

Banner Ads

I worked at AdReady in Seattle for a year, during which I cranked out banner ads every day, in seven sizes. I know it's tooting my own horn, but I got pretty quick in timeline flash animation during that time, and I also developed a facility for actionscript-based motionm which is much more efficient and smooth, but more finicky with Publisher guidelines at times. I am deliberate and focused on maintaining Publisher fileweight and time guidelines, and capable of creating richer, more interactive content for banners as well. I can either draft up a fresh look or adhere to an existing brading or style guide.

MySpace Layout

It's mostly bands that want this, and I love to work with other musicians —even though most of the are broke! I kind of see myspace layouts as falling under one of two categories —either a custom paint job or a complete structural overhaul. Either way, you want some custom graphic section headers, some background graphics, and a kind of re-styling. The overhaul comes in when you want the general layout orientation revised, and requires more graphics production, coding and testing. Either way, they're fun to work on, and they help define a band's presence on the web, in a place where most music-goers are relying on to learn about new or lesser-known bands. I price them according to these criteria and am willing to work with you on your budget requirements if I like your band!
